Foreign workers' remittances were US$ 325.2 million in December 2021 and will increase to US$ 475.6 million in December 2022.
Labor and Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara said that there has been an increase.
The Minister points out that this is an increase of 46% (US$ 150 million) compared to the foreign currency receipts reported in December 2021. Also, the minister said recently that although he expected 300,000 people to go abroad in 2022, he was able to exceed that number by 312,000 people.
