Recently, as part of the electric three-wheeler introduction program implemented by David Peiris Motors with the assistance of USAID, 20 three-wheelers have been put into operation.
Initially, this fleet of three-wheeler will operate in Colombo and nearby suburbs, with all vehicles sporting a white and green color scheme. The service will be available to customers from 7 am to 7 pm until Saturday. To avail of this service, customers can use the YOGO Taxi-hailing mobile app or call the dedicated hotline number 077 7 606077.
All vehicles are centrally monitored by the company, and the drivers wear E-Drive uniforms. Their information is displayed in the vehicle for the customers' convenience, along with a contact number to report any issues. The fare for this service is approximately 65 rupees per kilometer.
The event was attended by the American Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chang, and the Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera.
