The milk powder importing companies say that the price of milk powder in Sri Lanka will have to increase due to the increase in the price of milk powder in the world market and the depreciation of the local rupee.
They say that a kilo packet of milk powder will be increased by Rs. 600 from Rs. 1,345 to Rs. 1,945 and a 400 gram packet will be increased by Rs. 260 from Rs. 540 to Rs. 800.
At present the government is out of control of the price of milk powder and it is done at the discretion of the companies
