The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs is responding to a letter sent to the ministry by the Chief Incumbent Venerable Galgamuwe Santhabodhi Thero requesting the reinstatement of the removed police security at the historic Kurundi Rajamaha Viharaya in Mullaitivu.
Accordingly, it is reported that the government has decided to restore the removed police security.
Responding to the relevant request, the Minister in charge of the subject, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, has informed the Chief Incumbent Venerable Thero that immediate steps will be taken to restore the necessary police security for the temple.
