It is reported that the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption has filed an indictment against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody before the Colombo High Court.
He is accused of committing the offence of corruption by conducting procurement activities in a manner that gave undue advantage to a private institution while he was working at a fertilizer company in 2016.
This case has been filed under the Anti-Corruption Act after considering the loss suffered by the government as a result of the incident.
