Dr. Wasantha Sena Welianga mentions that hemp is not only drunk by three-wheel drivers, there are doctors who perform surgeries after drinking hemp, as well as teachers who provide education.
He also said that he had drunk hemp with the monks and had a "joint" with Parliament member Dayasiri Jayasekara when he was a university student and that hemp should be legalized in Sri Lanka. He further said that many products such as medicinal oil, thread, paper etc. can be made from hemp and Sri Lankans are opposed in this way because they do not know about them.
