Basil Rajapaksa, the organizer of the Sri Lanka People's Front, is scheduled to be sworn in as a National List Member of Parliament on the 8th, according to weekly newspapers.
He will be sworn in as the State Minister of Economic Development and Finance.
The Colombo Port City Project and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka are to be handed over to the Ministry. These two ministries are currently under Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister Namal Rajapaksa. Several institutions under Minister Chamal Rajapaksa are to be handed over to Basil Rajapaksa.
