A protest by the Socialist Youth Union, an organization affiliated to the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), has stormed the Presidential Secretariat premises.
They were chanting slogans calling for a solution to the fuel and gas crisis, the return of oil tanks to India and the immediate takeover of the Yugadanavi power plant.
Protesters from the fort forced their way into the Presidential Secretariat, where a heated situation reportedly arose. .
