Government hospitals in Sri Lanka have a total of 43 CT scan machines, out of which 10 are currently out of order, according to the Association of Government Radiology Technical Officers.

The president of the association, Chanaka Dharmawickrama, reported that the CT scan machines in 3 other hospitals are not functioning properly and are unable to reach their maximum capacity. He further emphasized that the malfunctioning CT scan machines have caused significant distress to numerous patients.
