Russia has proposed to build a nuclear power plant in Sri Lanka. According to the report, the relevant MoU has already been submitted by the country.

With this proposal presented by Russia, the cabinet approved the appointment of a steering committee and 9 working groups to study the facts for the construction of a nuclear power plant.

Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board Chairman Prof. S.R.D. said that this proposal has been presented as a program between two states (G to G). Rosa says.

However, it has not yet been decided whether this power plant will be built in the territory of this country or installed on a ship and put into operation at sea.
